About Me
Dr. Schenkel joins Penn State Health St. Joseph and Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Group after receiving her undergraduate degree in Biology from The Pennsylvania State University, and her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Schenkel believes in a pragmatic and holistic approach to medicine. She strives to build positive relationships with her patients throughout their care, while teaching her patients about their individual health. Her passion and connection with patients is one of the main reasons she chose a field in primary care. She completed her family medicine residency at Penn State Health St. Joseph's where she served as chief resident in 2013-2014. Dr. Schenkel plans on practicing the full scope of family medicine in Strausstown, by seeing all ages of patients from newborns through geriatrics, while taking a special interest in women's health. She is Board-certified in Family Medicine.
