About Me

Peter Lewis, MD, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Princeton University and received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. He attended family medicine residency at the University of Washington, where he served as chief resident, and continued his training by completing a fellowship in faculty development. Dr. Lewis is board certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is a member of the Society of Distinguished Educators and the Drs. Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Lewis is a faculty advisor to the College's student chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility. Dr. Lewis enjoys the breadth of family medicine care and the related depth of relationships with patients and their families. He finds it rewarding to work with patients of all ages, in any of life's stages, at times of wellness and illness. He also enjoys opportunities to work with and learn from medical students and family medicine residents. Dr. Lewis has particular interests in care to under-served populations, doctor-patient communication, the medical humanities, cancer survivorship care, and resident research and scholarly activities.
