The Fatty Liver Disease Program at Penn State Health is central Pennsylvania’s only multidisciplinary program for patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Our internationally recognized liver experts (hepatologists) offer a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and management of this common disease in one convenient location. The Fatty Liver Disease Program at Penn State Health is home to the region’s only multidisciplinary NAFLD research team funded by the National Institutes of Health. Patients have access to leading-edge clinical trials that focus on diet and exercise as well as innovative medications. They also have access to a personalized medicine research study on NAFLD that targets the main gene responsible for the disease as a potential new treatment.
