Medication management is safe for your baby

The Food and Drug Administration has approved medications to treat substance use disorders during and after pregnancy. For example, approved medications for opioid use disorder can lower the risk of overdose and death of women during pregnancy and after childbirth. The medications are safe for use during pregnancy and may reduce the risk of neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome in newborns. Your provider will work with you to determine the best treatment plan for you and your baby.
