Working together to provide comprehensive care
The Interventional Endoscopy Group plays a major role in the screening, diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal cancer, such as esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, hepatocellular, biliary tract and colorectal cancer, and submucosal tumors. The most common procedure used to prevent colorectal cancer is colonoscopy. However, our approach to the detection, treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal cancer goes well beyond that. At Penn State Health, gastrointestinal cancers are managed through a multidisciplinary team that includes oncologists, cancer surgeons, gastroenterologists, pathologists, radiologists and others working together to provide comprehensive patient care.
