SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Department of Family & Community Medicine at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center seeks a BC/BE Family Medicine Physician to join our faculty in beautiful Hershey, PA. We offer a unique opportunity to provide acute and urgent outpatient care as a float physician, serving diverse patients and needs across our ambulatory clinics. Our Family and Community Medicine Department provides quality primary care that is holistic, compassionate, and coordinated across our health system. We provide a safe, cost-effective environment that is patient-centered for the entire community. Position is non-tenure with academic rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) commensurate with experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1.0 FTE float physician family medicine clinics for set periods of time to provide acute and urgent care coverage serving our existing patients.
- 80% for templated patient care (32 hours/week)
- 10% (4 hours/week) allocated separately for asynchronous effort
- 10% (4 hours/week) for administrative effort, including opportunities for independent research and medical student educational opportunities
- Standard clinic hours are Monday – Friday
- Participation in outpatient call 8-12 days/year
- Clinics are located within a 45-minute driving radius of Hershey, PA
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages.
- Partner and collaborate across disciplines within our academic medical center.
- Opportunity to teach MD, NP, and PA students.
WHAT WE’RE SEEKING:
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
- Completion of accredited training program
- Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
- BC/BE in Family Medicine
- Must be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates
