SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Penn State Health St. Joseph Neonatology team is looking for an experienced Physician Assistant to join our team in a Level II NICU with well-baby and delivery room responsibilities. The Physician Assistant will manage and coordinate overnight care for the NICU patients. Following appropriate orientation, the PA is credentialed and works in collaboration with the attending physicians, peers, and other members of the healthcare team to provide specialty care to critically ill patients. An in-house Respiratory Therapist is available for all deliveries and a backup Neonatologist is available during the night. The average number of deliveries a year is 1000-1500.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment
- National Certification in the State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Neonatal Resuscitation (NPR) Certification
- PA-C required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- NICU critical care experience
- Two (2) years of experience within their licensure
